Mobile App Privacy Information
We want your St Kilda Festival experience to be fun, easy and safe. This page explains what personal information we collect through the St Kilda Festival App, why we collect it, and how it’s protected.
The app is provided by Leap Event Technology, which collects the information you enter when you register and securely shares it with the City of Port Phillip.

The City of Port Phillip complies with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) and takes the protection of your personal information seriously.
What information do we collect?
Basic details
When you sign up to use the app, Leap collects the following information and shares it with us:
- First name
- Email address
These details are needed to create your profile and allow you to use the app. Your email address may also be used by the City of Port Phillip to send you future St Kilda Festival updates and promotional information.
Leap Event Technology may also use your information in accordance with its own Privacy Policy, which may include sending you event related updates or promotional communications.
Demographic information
The app also collects:
- Suburb/Postcode
- Gender
- Age range
This information helps us understand who attends the festival, whether we’re reaching different parts of the community, and how we can improve the event each year.
We may use this information in reports, but only in a de-identified way. Your name and email will not be published or shared.
Location information
Geographical location information may also be collected by device-based location services (including GPS data). You may choose to allow us to access your location by granting the Services access to your location when prompted or through your device’s location services settings. This may be used by City of Port Phillip to determine attendance of the St Kilda Festival, potential user movements around site to patron flow at the event for the purposes of improving attendee experiences.
How you use the app
The app automatically collects general usage information, such as:
- Pages or features you view in the app
This helps us understand what people are interested in so we can improve the app and evaluate festival activities.

- Understand who is attending the festival
- Improve the event and guide future planning
