Saturday - First Peoples First

Join Port Phillip Libraries and Family Services to celebrate First Peoples through music, laughter, and storytelling. We’re thrilled to welcome Jaeden from Biik Bundjil who will lead two engaging sessions:

12:45 pm: Yidaki & Storytelling

Join Jaeden and our amazing Yidaki (didgeridoo) performer for an interactive journey of story, movement and celebration. The Yidaki holds deep cultural and spiritual significance, often used in ceremonies, storytelling, and healing practices. Its distinctive sound connects people to Country, ancestors, and Dreaming. We invite you to immerse yourselves into our engaging and inclusive session.

2:45 pm: Yinga Bilang Songlines

Follow the Songlines that trace stories across land and sea, learning through rhythm and movement. An interactive session for all ages to feel connected to Country.

But that’s not all! Spin our rainbow wheel to win a prize, play a game of giant Jenga or connect four.

Relax in our Family Chill-Out Zone, and don’t miss the chance to Adopt-a-Book and give a story a new home.
