Wrong Way Up are Naarm's Afro-synth duo bringing vintage disco and psychedelic boogie into the now. Emma D’s powerful vocals meet ADP’s synth and drum machine wizardry for a sound that’s both fresh and familiar, nodding to legends like Frances Bebey and William Onyeabor. Signed to UK’s Soundway Records, their debut Totally Right dropped in early 2025. Quickly garnering a reputation for their high-energy live show, Wrong Way Up have brought the boogie to WOMADelaide, Strawberry Fields, OK Motels, A Festival Called Panama, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, JerkFest, When Pigs Fly and supported Cut Copy, Eddy Current Suppression Ring and Essendon Airport. They have plenty more yet-to-be announced shows lined up for 2026 and beyond.
