Jamie MacDowell sounds like a live band playing pop, soul and hip hop. With a set of drum pads at his fingertips, Jamie performs live drums, bass, piano, guitar and vocal parts, and it’s a spectacle. As a songwriter and storyteller, he has sold out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, London Southbank, Glastonbury Music Festival, Zermatt Unplugged (Switzerland), Prague Fringe Festival, South African National Arts Festival, Hong Kong Underbelly Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, and in theatres and basement bars throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia.
His passion for storytelling and language means that his audiences feel included in every performance and no two shows are the same. He leans into the music created by live acts like Lauryn Hill, The Roots, Citizen Cope and Childish Gambino, with a focus on phrasing and groove.
