New Music Competition Terms & Conditions

  • To be eligible for the NEW MUSIC COMPETITION:
    • the band/act must reside in Victoria, Australia
    • the band/act must have written and performed the original materials submitted in the application
    • the band/act must not be receiving financial assistance from a label
    • the band/act must have enough original material to perform a live 30-minute set
    • the band/act must be available for filming on 17 and 18 November 2021

  • By completing this application form, you will be considered for the NEW MUSIC COMPETITION. Please note that other St Kilda Festival stages are programmed separately, and you cannot apply for these stages.

  • By submitting an application on behalf of your band/act, you agree to being available to film your live performance on the 17 and 18 of November, 2021 at MEMO Music Hall, St Kilda. Please note, your act will only perform on one of these dates, which will be determined upon your successful notification, however we ask that you keep both dates free until notified.

  • Participants will be required to comply with public health restrictions in place at the time and location of filming, this may include mandatory vaccination compliance. The City of Port Phillip and/or filming venue reserves the right to exclude participants who do not comply with public health restrictions.

  • If your application is successful, the contract will reserve the Council the right to make use of the band/act’s name, biographical information, images, songs and other related materials for the purpose of advertising, publicising and promoting St Kilda Festival and the New Music Competition through such outlets as print, TV, radio and online media.

  • This application process does not guarantee that your band/act will perform at the St Kilda Festival. A selection process will take place once applications have closed and you will be notified by Wednesday 3 November, 2021 on the outcome of your application.

  • It is the entrant's responsibility to protect the copyright of their own work. The St Kilda Festival and City of Port Phillip has no such obligations or liability in regards to this matter.

  • Applications close 5pm, 18 October 2021 and late submissions will not be accepted.

 

  • Privacy and Collection of Personal Information: The Festival collects personal information about you to enable you to participate in this application process but no further use of this information will be made without prior consent or unless otherwise stated within the form.
