About St Kilda Festival 2022
In 2022 St Kilda Festival will run from Saturday 5 – Sunday 13 February 2022.

Since we held our last St Kilda Festival in 2020, a lot has changed. Our team is busy pulling together a reimagined celebration that will bring people together, whilst keeping our community safe. Here’s what to expect in 2022:
- Instead of the previous one-day celebration, the 2022 St Kilda Festival will be spread across nine days from Saturday 5 – Sunday 13 February 2022.
- The 2022 Festival will also incorporate a celebration of First People’s Arts and Culture, which will take place on Saturday 12 February 2022.
- The Festival will activate in three iconic St Kilda locations: Acland Street, Fitzroy Street, and South Beach Reserve, across the course of the nine-day event, each area on different days.
- There will be new registration measures in place to ensure the event meets public health and capacity requirements for a COVID Safe event.
We will continue to update this website with details on the 2022 event and how you can register to attend. You can also follow our socials and subscribe to our eDM to stay across any event updates.
I want to be involved in the Festival
Emerging musicians who live in Victoria are encouraged to apply for the New Music Competition, which will be a digital stage at the 2022 Festival. The crowd favourite will take home a $5,000 cash prize, as well as an invitation to perform at the St Kilda Festival Main Stage in 2023. Applications close Monday 18 October 2021.
All other stages at St Kilda Festival are curatorially programmed and submissions for these stages will not be considered.
Community Groups based in City of Port Phillip are encouraged to submit expressions of interest to showcase their activity at the 2022 Festival. Applications close Sunday 24 October 2021
St Kilda Festival will be changing its format in 2022 in line with public health measures, to ensure a COVID safe event for our community. These changes will impact the way food, beverage and market stalls will be incorporated in the 2022 Festival. To accommodate these changes, there will be no public submission process for itinerant traders for the 2022 Festival.
Festival staff will be in touch with permanent traders in within the Festival precinct to discuss how the event will impact their business, and how they can get involved.
Employment opportunities are advertised on the City of Port Phillip recruitment page. Any available volunteering opportunities will be advertised on our social channels (Facebook, Instagram) and through our eDM (subscribe here) closer to the event.
Commercial partnerships help make our Festival possible. If you’d like your business or brand to be featured at St Kilda Festival, get it touch with our Sponsorship Manager to discuss how your brand can partner with us.
