Delsinki Records & Brooke Taylor
Alt-folk Melbourne artists Brooke Taylor and Delsinki Records (Craig Johnston) have combined talents, releasing their debut EP Love One boasting a collection of season-inspired tracks that follow the narrative of a romantic struggle.
It is a unique collaboration of catchy light melodies and strong storytelling that demonstrates Taylor and Johnston’s songwriting finesse. From the upbeat breezy sounds of opening track Spring (Swim Against The Tide) through to the haunting marching beat of the broken heart in Winter (From The Ashes), this is a poetic arrangement designed to be listened to as a piece.
Their latest single Autumn (Break Me Delicately) launched in June 2016 shows the duo flexing their strong vocal harmonies and features percussionist Elvis Aljus (Cirque du Soleil) and traditional Indian flutist Vinod Prasanna. This single is accompanied by a soon to be released high-art film clip capturing the brooding nature of the track.
Seen headlining gigs around Melbourne and recently described in The Music as two of Melbourne's favourite South-side performers, they have cultivated a stunning live show. In the last two years Delsinki Records has toured with the Australian Chamber Orchestra and in 2015 Brooke Taylor became a finalist in the Telstra Road to discovery. Since releasing Love One, featuring a collaboration with members of Melbourne Ska Orchestra, the dynamic duo has been locked in for Victoria’s boutique Swagger Music Festival 2016. They are an exciting act that has accomplished many milestones in a short time frame.
Brooke Taylor and Delsinki Records are set to bring punters the thrilling live show across Victoria on their regional tour in October 2016.
