The second CONFINED exhibition initiated by the Yalukit Willam Ngargee: People Place Gathering festival has developed a creative programming partnership between the City of Port Phillip, The Torch Project, Corrections Victoria, Department of Justice and The Brosnan Centre.

 

This creative programming partnership utilizes the festival structure as a catalyst towards fostering culturally significant creative reform pathways for Indigenous men and women in custody.

 

The Festival Producer  would like to acknowledge the encouragement of the creative programming partners belief in the CONFINED II exhibition and the use of arts as a positive connecter between the artist in custody and wider community.

 

If there is an indicator to the success of the CONFINED II exhibition given the circumstances, it is that the quality of works within the exhibition express heart, meaning and a continued connection to the spirit of the land.
