Australian hip hop has come a long way since its early incarnations and YAYM is a prime example of where it's heading. The band’s sound is faithful to hip hop with rap vocals, soul choruses and a hip hop rhythm engine, but, unique to Australian urban music and labelled soul hop by their hip hop peers their style is also reminiscent of R & B and soul.
